I bought this set for 4 and 3 year olds. I remembered playing with a similar wooden building set when I was little. The parts fit together and hold up well. Making their own props for other toys stimulates their imagination and also allows them to train their fine motor skills. They also learn to share and participate in building partnerships. I bought a second set because sometimes they get a bit rough and some of the connecting pins broke. This is due to age and coordination, not a product defect. Older children are more careful with plastic parts.
