Useless ear piercings but good size for a 9 year old

The size seems really good for my 9 year old son but the ear piercings are in the wrong place and he said they were a little difficult to breathe . Not worth returning and I'm sure he'll still be using them, but we're disappointed that they didn't live up to our expectations. Pictured is my petite 7 year old daughter. The ears of the eldest son are even worse. (ear held too far forward)
