I use other products to *clean* the cage (hint: 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water works well!), but I use this to "freshen" them. I have seven guinea pigs in a large cage with fleece lining. This product acts on the coat in the same way as Febreeze, but unlike Febreeze it is safe to use on small animals. After vacuuming up the fecal pellets, I spray them onto the fleece to "freshen up" the cage on days I don't wash the fleece. It's safe to use even while the piglets are still in the cage, although I remove the feeding bowls first.
