This is a great car seat for the money. It doesn't have the same features and finish as other, more expensive car seats (it doesn't look as nice when you're sitting backwards, for example, because there are some protruding plastic edges), but it feels perfectly functional and safe. I would be a bit concerned about the edges marking the seat but we have Brica floor mats in our cars so it's not a problem. However, I did figure out how to install and secure it with the snap system in the dark in about 5 minutes. I'm sure a lot of the reviews here are from people who don't know how to assemble it properly
