Only lasted 2 months

We have robot vacuums So we don't use the whole house vacuum very often, but we need a new hose. I bought this one and it worked maybe 3 or 4 times before there was a problem with the switch and cord. The problem is that the cable to the switch has failed and as a result the vacuum cleaner no longer turns on. Looking more closely at the reviews, this seems to be a common problem.
