These shoes have regular inelastic laces. You are speechless. This means that even if you loosen the laces, the lack of a tongue limits the width of the opening you can put your foot through. I have to pull and wiggle to get into my shoes, especially the back. However, once they're on, they're quite comfortable to wear, at least for walking around. [I don't use them for running]. I have a fairly high arch so others may find this shoe less difficult to put on.
