I ordered one with a controller for my first puppy because she is a 'covider puppy' (got her during the pandemic). . I got a second puppy and he did the same so I bought a second one for him. Adding this collar to the same controller was sooo easy. We don't use electroshocks, so I don't know how effective they are. We only use beep and vibration. Sturdy enough for my two little Morkies. I probably won't recommend it for a dog over 30 pounds. My only downside is that the battery doesn't seem to last long with prolonged use, but we just charge it every night and that usually lasts all day. I don't think I've ever had to charge a controller either. That thing lasts forever!
