Insufficient horizontal clearance between top and center bars. If you hang two wet towels, one on top and one in the middle, the top towel will be pressed against the middle one. In my picture, the white towel hanging from the top bar is pushed back by the green towel in the middle. As long as you don't air dry all the poles, it's great for hanging towels, scarves, etc. Because of the narrow space between the top and middle poles, if you pull something from one of the poles, it'll shoot whatever you need . is in another bar.
