Review on Starry Black Wireless Xbox 360 Controller: Improved 2.4GHZ Gamepad Joystick for Xbox & Slim 360 PC Windows 7, 8, 10 by Lin Wei-Yin ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

This particular version does not include a receiver. You will either have to look for a Wireless for Windows kit, or go to the Chinese in an online store. Someone complained about firewood - they are quite available on the Internet, they are on the Microsoft website, of course. It’s just that it’s somewhat inconvenient to search for the right software from them. The package of firewood for wired and wireless joys is the same.

Pros
  • Although it is intended for the console, it is compatible with Windows out of the box. I bought it for her. Excellent ergonomics and the already standard layout from Sony (their own, ergonomics from them, but not badly modified). Comfortable sticks with finger holes, they are less likely to slip off than with traditional bulbous mushrooms. Support in modern games out of the box. True, it comes with incompatibility with all other joysticks and the traditional console control setting "here's two profiles for you, choose any" instead of the full setup traditional for PC. Wireless, long battery life. The connection keeps iron, despite the large number of 2.4 GHz networks simultaneously working for me (Wi-Fi, BT, Logitech FastRF). Excellent workmanship. Well, Microsoft can do it, yes.
Cons
  • Incomplete support for DirectInput - when working through it (i. E. in older games), vibration is not available. In addition, the triggers are visible as one axis. Nearly useless Guide button. The status bar (although only the charge level is useful information) is not shown in games, there is no way to turn off the joystick (on the box this is done through the set-top box menu, but for some reason this function was forgotten on Windows), you have to rely on auto-shutdown. Auto power off - if you put the joystick aside for a while (for example, in GTA - to run around to shoot), it will pass out. If you return to the joystick at a tense moment (dumping from a chase, for example), this can fail. All accessories, including battery and charging cable - separately. Only two batteries are included in the kit (however, they can be perfectly replaced with ordinary batteries, in addition, the button for fixing the battery compartment has an undocumented chip - when you press it without removing the compartment, the joystick turns off). Nedeshev. The device is of course of a high level, but still the price is somewhat overpriced. But that's always the case with console accessories. Membrane buttons LB/RB (above triggers). So far so good, but this type of button is notorious for its low reliability (just read the reviews from the triggers on Nintendo portable consoles - GBA SP, NDS - they all start to fail in a year or two). Yes, and to replace them, you need to own a soldering iron (and, given the properties of the board, also special equipment for dismantling), unlike the others, where you just need to change (or even just wipe) the rubber bands.
