A little taste of Italy

When I left Italy I knew I would miss ice cream more than anything in the world. After much research I have decided that this is exactly the path I want to take. I like the idea of not freezing the bowl ahead of time. The recipes that came with this dish were delicious and of course there are plenty of recipes on Pinterest. You mix and heat the ice cream ingredients first, then refrigerate for 2-6 hours or overnight. Pay VERY attention to the amount of ice cream base you prepare. The unit is a liter and a half. When it freezes, the ground expands. You have to clean up the mess when the bowl is full. The recipes that come with this machine are 5-6 cup base. I always had to clean up the overflow. Not that I mind because who else can eat freshly made ice cream :) So don't try to duplicate the recipe and expect success. The car is so heavy that I always leave it on the counter. If you have a compressor, you need to keep it upright when it's not on the counter. Otherwise, it is recommended to leave it upright for 24 hours before using. So far my favorite ice cream flavors have been Sicilian Cream (tastes like Crรจme Brรปlรฉe), Lemon, Pistachio, Vanilla, Cherries and Peaches. My husband is making rum-soaked raisin ice cream. We had a lot of fun trying out new recipes and flavors. I think we've raved enough about it, my nephew bought the same car as well.
