Love it but you have to join

My electric paper shredder recently died after really not taking up enough space to justify the space and outlet it took up on my desk. So I decided to try this little device instead. It's not bad - it's actually good for me. Now when I'm going through bills etc, I sort the non-personal pages for recycling and stack the personal information pages vertically and toss them in a small trash can. While watching TV, I sit with a small paper shredder on my lap and turn the folded papers over one by one, lightly but slowly. it would be better if I put it on the table, but that's ok - it works, doesn't make noise and does the job if the job isn't too big. I compost leftovers. I've tried using them as bedding in bird cages but they are too thick and protrude through the bottom of the cage. It's nice to think of banknotes rotting in the coffee grounds. Every once in a while I'll thread a small piece of tinfoil through to sharpen the blades and be fine. Sanding curved paper, I'm wondering if it has to be so narrow that the paper has to be half the size to fit in, but I think it probably is (it's a torque issue, right?). I also wish the cutting handle was permanently attached. So this is the grinder you should choose. If it fits your lifestyle, like mine, it's a good tool, a small investment, and somehow charming. If you have a lot of paper to shred, this is not the solution.

Pros
  • Office Electronics
Cons
  • Slightly torn
