pH strips are not very accurate, but if you just need to get a general idea of acidity or alkalinity they are the cheapest and easiest way to measure liquids. My water is turning porcelain blue, which usually indicates acidic water and copper tubing leached from the copper. The strip shows my water is within 6 points so it didn't answer my question exactly but it did the best strips can do. The strips are packaged very well and for a few bucks I now have several lifetime supplies. I would like the measurement to be a 5 or 7 and be final, but the stripes are what they are. May be useful for gardeners using the fungicide Captan, which becomes ineffective when mixed with alkaline water.
