For those of you looking for a Bluetooth adapter compatible with your Win7 (64-bit) operating system, good news: ONE WORKS! After trial and error (multiple) I finally figured out the correct setup sequence to pair BT with my headphones. Cable Matters support was fantastic and they went out of their way to help which was appreciated. Here are my steps to get the pairing right: How to set up Bluetooth on a Windows 71 64-bit system Follow the download instructions (Cable Matters) and install the 64-bit version of the BT2 adapter. Reboot the system3. Open your services and make sure the following services are running a. Bluetoothb service. Bluetooth Support Service Note: You may need to click on each service's Sign In tab and set this account to Local Service, clear passwords, then save and stop or restart the services4. Click Start and type Control Panel5. In the Control Panel search box, type bluetooth6. In the Network and Sharing Center section, select: Set up a connection or network7. Select a connection option: Connect to a Bluetooth Personal Area Network (PAN)8. Click Next9. Set your BT device to "pairing mode". 10. Click on "Add device", your device should be in the list (you may need to scroll down to find and select it). Finally there seems to be a big problem if I unplug the BT device and then try to turn it back on, does it always work? However, if I reboot the system, I can add the device back without any problems. Hope this helps your case.
