These work fine. They probably don't really protect you from any illnesses out in the air, but it feels easier than the face masks. That being said, when I was first using it, it was way too tight. My nose would hurt after a few hours of use every day. That is, until it stretched out too much and I had to constantly readjust it so it didn't fall off my face
