It fits perfectly on my daughter's Star Wars themed HP laptop and is a handy size for portability. It's not a high-end mouse, but it's not marketed as such and works very well for them at school, at home, or wherever. I have no idea about the battery life, but I suspect the batteries should last at least a year with normal use. The nano receiver (like Logitech's) is unobtrusive and works well. The mouse tracks almost any surface, which is good, and has a "dark laser" meaning you can't see it when you lift the mouse. not distract yourself or others.
