Review on πŸ’¦ Stay Hydrated on Your Runs with CamelBak Men's Zephyr Running Hydration Vest – Innovative Body Mapping Technology – 34 oz by Michael Vargas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost perfect, but for the price.

I have used CamelBak hydration systems for many years. They are the best in the business and when I had the opportunity to order this wetsuit for running I jumped at it. First, I don't care about the bubble systems anymore. It hurts to keep them clean. My preference has shifted to bottled water over the years. This vest has soft bottles with quick bite access. This gives you water bottles with a larger capacity than traditional hard plastic bottles. Truly a hybrid between a bottle and a bladder. Very good stuff. Whatever the case, this vest is designed for the bladder. So if you need one, this vest will do, but it doesn't come with the kit. The vest itself is very well made. Has four quick back/side adjustments as well as regular chest adjustments. Has multiple pockets. Two large ones on the back (one zip/one velcro) and one on each chest strap. At first glance, I was very disappointed with the size of the breast pockets, as this is where I prefer to keep my cell phone. I use a Samsung Note 10+ so I need bigger bags. Surprisingly, one day the cases easily fit my phone. The vest itself is very cool, fits very well and is very light. It's also been treated to reduce odor, which is important to me because I sweat like crazy. Oddly enough, the Zephyr vest comes with a tiny plastic whistle attached to the left chest strap. It's so small and quiet that I can't figure out how to turn it on. It jumps when running, so I cut it off. The CamelBak Zephyr vest is very well made and almost perfect for me. It literally checks every box I have for a hydro vest. So why only four stars? Now that's where this review gets difficult for me. For $150, I just don't like the value proposition here. There are many very good options that cost less. Some are much smaller. So right now I love the Zephyr Vest and recommend it. I highly recommend it for serious distance runners who want the very best and for whom money is not an issue.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
