I have an old 1940's art deco carved candle holder, heavy antique brass, carved marble, push button lamp dresser that only fits a narrow smaller bulb. I wanted to replace a complete standard lamp with an LED in order to shine without the waste heat of a conventional incandescent lamp. The tassel crystal lampshade has been replaced with Mission stained glass, requiring more support. This lamp adapter is much thicker, and the top metal connection plate is larger and thicker than the store options. This slightly supported the new lampshade once I added a concave set of caps that screwed onto the clamped cap end caps. My grandmother would be happy if her old art deco lamp was still a working treasure when she retired. I recommend!
