It's so nice to find a small quantity of hemp peelings at a reasonable price rather than having to buy bulky quantities. Hemp is great for our outdoor bedding. Doesn't mold, absorbs well, doesn't stink. This should seem obvious to cats because they all got it right away. In fact, one of them regularly let me out to use it and then came back (at least in winter). Yes, we have an open tray. It's on a covered porch, but we've been using cannabis in an open, roofless enclosure for many years. Every day we just collected solids and about once a month we replaced a pile of hemp in the corner. I wish someone would invent a hemp-based filler that could capitalize on NON-GRANULES.
