Review on Blue Snowball Condenser Microphone Cardioid by Jay Swearengin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks good in some places, bad in others. Sounds Great

This is without a doubt the best and most fun microphone I have ever used. When I got this I tested it on skype which allows you to hear your own mic and for some reason it sounded way better than the reviews here and youtube which led me to believe. I really like this mic, but it has a few design flaws that are just really annoying. Pros: Very good stand. I've seen a few reviews where the stand had a bad reputation but that's kind of silly. This is a stand, it works, it has rubber feet so it doesn't scratch the table. What else should he do, backflip or manipulate time and space? The legs are made of steel and the body is made of very nice and thick plastic. It's not solid gold and you only pay $50. Snowball is easy to understand. If you want, you can easily screw the snowball onto the arrow. I love the fact that I can turn it off very easily after use. I'm a bit paranoid and feel safer when I don't have a mic and maybe someone is listening. It's great to be able to just unplug and plug the power cord back in when I need to use it. The device itself is great. Deciding to pay $10 more for the black version (although I feel really scalped) was a good choice as it blends seamlessly with everything else on my desk. The sound quality itself is pretty damn good. I'm really glad I decided to do this instead of buying one of those high end XxxM0nTaInD3wxxX pro gaming headsets like Razer where you can get crappy headphones and a pretty crappy mic for $100. I would recommend my itinerary and get some great headphones and this mic. I plan to voice mods at some point, so it will benefit a lot of things. But at the moment I use it to communicate with friends during the game. Cons: Red LED. It looks terrible and very intrusive. Yes, it lets me know it's on. Do you know what else could give me this information? Every program I use it for. Or even the microphone section under Recording Devices if you right-click the speaker icon if you're using Windows. I suspect duct tape would work, or better yet, not sticking a lightbulb in at all. power cord. The cable you get in the box to power the Snowball doesn't even match the device. In my case I received a brown wire. Brown. Cable. Doesn't go with anything, it would go with my desk, but it's such a weird and ugly tone that it doesn't even go with it. Overall I like this product very much. If he ever dies, I will use him to play tag with my friends. 4/5
