I buy and sell antique silver, a lot comes from auctions. Often it has completely faded until it is black. It would take me several hours to clean a teapot or an intricately engraved tray. I just didn't have time for it. I remembered Hagerty 17245 Flatware Silver Dip, 16.9 fl.Oz, Black and decided to give it a try. I could put cutlery in the basket but didn't know what to do with huge items. Finally I tried a small spray gun with a very fine spray. I would just spray it on, wait a few seconds and then rinse off. I have found that the secret to a perfect result is to treat the piece with a true POLISH for silver because while the silver bath removes tarnish it does not polish it.
