Review on Chaco Cloud Women's Solid Black Athletic Shoes: Ultimate Comfort and Style for Active Women by Sean Garrison

Great shoes but a head taller: Wide = looser

First of all I would like to say that Flip Chaco is my favorite shoe - EVER (except for shiny jelly shoes when I was 6 years old). I had a medium pair in size 7 that I wore almost continuously for 3 years. During that time I asked the local Cobble Shop to re-stick the strap onto one of these to extend it for another season. They are definitely non-slip, both in the traction of the sole and in the insole. Your feet won't slide in when they're wet (until you put them all the way on like I did). I walked in flip flops, probably the way a lot of people in Chaco sandals walk all day, for miles, around scrambles and riverbeds with rocks, roots and slopes. I've even climbed sandstone rocks with it (with a backpack on my back) - simply brilliant grip. However, I have (politically correct?) caveman feet that are quite wide and reminiscent of Tarzan, so I gladly went for a wide sole. The real sole is perfect (both wider and longer than the medium I had)! It just turns out that the straps/straps are looser in the wide version, which is great for lounging poolside, but not so good when you're walking on a sandy beach, hiking, or trying to win an impromptu foot race. You are now "hang out". I plan on keeping them, but I predict that I'll swear when I inevitably think I'll be fine trying to break the mini thresholds in my flips, and I'll eat it.
