Review on 💻 Centon Electronics 4 DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory R1333SO4096: High-speed Performance for Enhanced Computing by Jay Elmo

DO NOT BUY CENTON RAM or you may experience the same disaster as me. I purchased and installed Centon RAM in my perfectly working 21" iMac in mid-2011. Revain's listing states "Centon's memory upgrades for Mac are guaranteed to work with your Mac." Too bad I didn't test the Centon RAM when "I got it. Over time I've noticed more and more file integrity issues when uploading files over the internet. It took me even longer to realize that the problem was DEFECTIVE CENTON RAM. After I removed the Centon RAM and had left the Apple RAM installed, my downloads from the internet worked fine and the file integrity checks passed the first time every time.What followed was a beginning realization of the true nature of the disaster caused by the malfunction of the Centon.RAM.The Effects of Centon's poor RAM were appalling: * I can't trust any of my backups, I store full 1.5 terabytes of Disk images of my work computer on three separate disks, and one of them goes into a different state. Whatever Time Machine backups were still good, they were lost because as soon as I removed the faulty Centon RAM, Time Machine found integrity issues and forced me to create a new backup from scratch. * The integrity of my entire system is in question and I need to reinstall my operating system, applications, etc. This is because I recently wiped my hard drive and reinstalled my OS etc to narrow down the source of the issues. * Lots of large virtual machine backups (ZIP files) that I claim my work is corrupted and unrecoverable from. * A lot of data has been lost or corrupted. * It was a complete and utter disaster. I have contacted Centon several times to request a refund instead of a replacement. Obviously the short return period has passed but given the damage to my data I didn't trust Centon RAM anymore so I contacted Centon apart from their return policy. Special thanks to Emma and Jay from customer service who were very supportive and helpful. My final request for a refund was made to Laura Wellman at Centon. Laura is Sales and Marketing Director at Centon. I have been told that she has the final say in approving the return exemption. I left their voicemail 3 times (800-9-CENTON, x2055) and also sent a polite email to lwellman@centon.com. Laura never answered any of my calls or emails, didn't even say no. How coarse. I have followed the Senton replacement procedure. The faulty RAM arrived at headquarters the next day. It took me almost two weeks to get replacement RAM even though I live in the same county. With no RAM, if you have to rely on Centon's lifetime warranty, expect a long wait before a replacement arrives. I tested the new Centon RAM and it passed, but I won't use it because I don't trust it. I replaced it with Crucial RAM which was highly recommended by many. SUMMARY: * Run a RAM test from time to time. I used memtest86 from [.]*. In my experience, don't buy Centon RAM or you could end up with the same terrible data corruption as I did.
