Review on SVPRO Optical 2 8 12Mm Variable 3840X2160 by Julie Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Major components work well but lack any workarounds

Pros: Very happy with the image sensor. Clear image, uniform lighting and color reproduction. The lenses are sharp and operation is relatively smooth, albeit fast. Excellent depth of field. Cons: None of the correction features I usually take for granted on consumer, pro, or commercial devices (image stabilization). , autofocus, lenses with distortion compensation). In that respect it's similar to cameras that came out 50 years ago, but for $100 that's what I should expect: the short focal length has significant barrel distortion with black corners. This can be ignored in security surveillance and corrected with recorded video software, but it can be a limiting factor for use in live video conferencing. General recommendation: I used 2-12 and 5-50mm lenses. The excellent depth of field of the 2-12mm lens makes it the best security camera and best stage recorder (if you can get the camera close enough). The 5-50mm lens has almost no distortion, but depth of field issues limit its use for capturing stage performances or conference calls. I wish they had a mid-range option to mitigate the shortcomings, or better yet, an upgraded lens that adds some missing features. - For personal conference calls, 3 to 5 feet camera distance - For group conference calls, 8 to 15 feet. - Security camera, 2-30ft but not the best low light sensitivity
