I installed these on PVC water pipes a long time ago and they seem to work fine. We originally had a much more expensive linear magnetic air conditioner that was damaged by a pressure surge requiring it to be removed and protected from re-use. Our water is very hard and before installing the magnetic water conditioner we had to descale the electric water heater about every eight months, with the magnetic conditioner the cleaning interval increased to over 5 years. After losing the original A/C we replaced it with a set of these and so far this set has performed the same as the more expensive version in the range.
