I think it's good that the pliers have a longer reach
Bought them as a gift and later had the opportunity to try them out in practice. I like that the pliers have more reach. As for scissors, I don't find much use for them. I usually keep a couple of nail clippers in my tackle box to trim the line when needed. I bought a pair of pliers after I started using them. I think they are great quality and I would buy them again although I could probably buy something less expensive at a hardware or dollar store.
