Our hob stopped working after 18 months but we had problems with one of the burners after only 6 months (the ring happened to stop working). One day the whole unit stopped working, an electrician came out to see why and when to put the fuse back in (when the hob stopped working the fuse blew and refused to put it back on our electrical fuse box) , a Huge spark flew from the handle! He was completely shocked and screamed! He said it was a very dangerous situation. We were never offered a warranty on this machine when I bought it and I foolishly thought it was unnecessary! Unfortunately, I couldn't find any hobs that fit our cutout. So we have to come back with this piece of junk and hope the same thing doesn't happen. We bought a new one from Lowe's which costs us almost 60% more and doubles the price when you include the warranty! But at least we have a 5-year guarantee. Keep in mind!
