I was first given this as a gift by someone in my family who mistakenly thought it was a clip-on table lamp (I was looking for one) and while it's definitely *not* a table lamp, this is an amazing reading lamp! I gifted it to my elderly mum (60+) as I didn't need a reading lamp and she loves it! She won't stop talking about it. She has always had poor eyesight and it only gets worse with age. This, coupled with the fact that the lights in our house are not very bright, means that she often has trouble seeing what she is trying to read and reading during the day was no longer comfortable for her, but frustrating. It's even worse during the day because the sunlight is brighter than our lanterns, but not enough to illuminate her books the way she needs. This little gadget has completely solved this problem! The 3 different brightness levels mean that during the day she uses the brightest to view her book in the sunlight, while at night she alternates between the lowest and second brightness levels. Before that, she'd tried everything: rearranging lamps, leaning the lamps against the armrests so they were practically in your face (it's scary, dangerous, and bothers everyone - luckily she never fell, but still), a flashlight from the phone, even other reading lamps! Everything was either too dim, uncomfortable or still not bright enough. It's perfect and it's great that it's rechargeable. Now she reads every day and needs to charge about once a week! Plus, it doubles as a bookmark! She just cuts it from her book cover to where she left off and it works great. The wire is also strong enough to stay in place but flexible enough that you can easily reposition it. I was originally going to send it back as as I said it was given to me as a 'table lamp' (which again is definitely not the case) but then my mum noticed and asked if she could get it before I even got a chance to initiate a return. And I'm so glad she did! Can't recommend this little reading lamp enough.
