Review on πŸ§ͺ 1 Pound Potassium Chloride KCl by Aaron Shaw

Impure Potassium Chloride

poor quality product. Whatever it is, it's not pure KCl. For a putative chemical company that boasts its motto "Elementary First Quality," this KCl is hardly that. They also say that the specification is available online. It's not like this. I don't want to use it. It was a waste of money. The product is off-white, pink-orange in color and resembles raw potassium chloride ore (sylvite) - probably no more than 95-98% pure at best. It did not produce the characteristic lavender flame but more of a yellow-orange flame similar to sodium chloride. Without this product specification, it's impossible to know what else is in it. If all you want is raw potassium chloride, then go for it. But I'm not even sure if it's KCl because of the flame test. PS I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a PhD. in biochemistry.

Pros
  • Comes in a resealable pouch sealed for security and freshness. It includes a pull tab for easy opening.
Cons
  • boring packaging
