StarTech 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub with Extra Charging Port

This 4 port hub is used on a desktop PC that only has a USB 3.0 port. By plugging this device into this port, I can connect four USB 3.0 data devices and one charger-only device, so this device actually has five ports. A 39" USB 3.0 AB cable is included to power and control the four data ports. Each port has a blue LED that glows when in use. The port on the end is a dedicated charging port and only works when the hub is plugged into the wall with the included power adapter cable. The adapter can switch between 100 and 240 volts and comes with four different snap-on connectors for international and domestic use. The cable is 45 cm long, so the connection should be a little close to the wall. The remaining four ports are together on one side. Simultaneous use of all four ports depends on the size of the cable connector shell. I connected an external hard drive, flash drive, Android tablet and USB sharer and everything worked as expected. I also had no problem charging my iPod through any of those four data ports even when I wasn't using the power adapter, but this is my only iOS device. Android smartphone, Fire tablet, Android tablet and power bank are easily charged via these four ports. Data transfer and backup speeds to and from devices connected to the hub were very fast with no lag. Loading in a dedicated port is much faster than other ports. The device offers additional functionality and convenience. Now I can connect multiple devices to a single port on the back of my computer, and the hub is in an accessible spot on the front. After a few weeks of use there were no problems.
