This thermometer was delivered this morning and I opened it quickly as I needed a replacement for my old and reliable catering thermometer which had been damaged by someone in the kitchen. After removing the battery protector and the screen protector, this thermometer showed nothing. I removed the battery cover and found that the battery was not installed properly and the battery pack was defective, preventing the battery from being installed properly. This thermometer proudly displays "Made in China" in several places on the packaging and thermometer. I go to the local store and buy a reliable thermometer.
