It is soft and flexible. There is peel-and-stick adhesive on the back for light to medium hold. Has a matte finish. The brown looks almost black-brown without a red cast/undertone. TIPS: I've read other reviews that it's not a permanent solution. Tends to rise with right angles. This is an extra step I did.1. I decided to buy vinyl glue as I wanted my sofa to always stand up. Measure and cut out your piece. Making sure my corners are rounded to stop future increases.3. Used sandpaper on the couch to help the new vinyl patch adhere better. Cleaned the couch from dirt and oils. I just added cement to the sofa. I did NOT glue it to the back of the patch. NOTE: (The instructions on the cement bottle say to add cement to the new patch and repair it. When you add cement to the new patch, it will curl up and it will be difficult to work with trying to unroll it and repair it )***Vinyl glue is not included with this order. I bought it separately.
