This is the third 30 foot power cord I have purchased for my Blink cameras. It's really a no brainer. It's good to have batteries, but I use a power cord because it would require a ladder and someone to climb the ladder for the batteries to be successful. . So I use this long power cord so I don't have to rely solely on batteries
