This fan replaced a light in my daughter's room. She's always hot and has the AC running even now, in late November in NY. I can't afford that! So, I installed this fan as a half solution, while it does circulate air, it does not provide a cooling effect, installation was fairly quick and simple. Took us a while to figure out how to get the fan feature without the lights on, but with some toying around and thorough reading of the manual (duh!) it was all figured out. If cooling is your main motivation behind this purchase, I would pass. If you're looking for decent light features and air circulation, this will do the job.
