My wife and I loved comforters but we didn't like the feather kept coming loose and also poking with a sharp end. They are also very expensive and you can develop allergies since they come from poultry after all. We switched to an alternative to Down a few years ago and we love it. We use alternative duvets year round and can get new ones every few years as alternative down comforters are cheaper. We bought this blanket for spring and upcoming summer. It's light but fluffy. It arrived in a compressed package but became fluffy upon opening the package and washing once. It's very soft and breathable, so it feels cool without feeling hot or stuffy.
