Review on Gorilla Crystal Clear Repair Tape, 1.88” X 9 Yd, Clear, (Pack Of 1) by Brian Foster

For years, I've looked for something to repair a canvas mooring cover used on a pontoon boat. The cover is more than 10 years old and has rips and split seams. But it's a custom fit and better than any ill-fitting generic replacement. I tried several brands of repair tape that peeled after several weeks. Sewn patches were marginally better but all of them didn't hold because the fabric is weak. Canvas repair kits using glue didn't hold. Took a chance on this tape with no expectations. I can hardly believe how well it works. On one ripped seam, I could not pull the shrunken canvas panels together and - in frustration - applied the Gorilla tape over a quarter-inch gap. The tape bridges the gap and holds the panels together, even though you can see through the patch to the deck below. So far it has held up in a thunderstorm or two. I ordered more tape with an eye toward sealing all the seams. Chalk it up as preventive maintenance. You cannot go wrong with this stuff.
