This safety razor is amazing and strong as a Ford! It is very strong in weight and made entirely of painted steel (bought the pink version). For a woman with tiny hands, I was a little afraid I would drop them and cut my leg. However, the weight made me remember not to press when shaving and to keep the razor at 30 degrees the whole time. I got my fingers too close to the blades when I put on the first blade because I didn't know what I was doing. so always! I had to ask my 71 year old mother how to open this thing to get the blade in because I had no idea. It's easy to unscrew the handle, releasing the lid. I then decided it would be a good idea to check YouTube on how to use it before user error leads to a visit to the ER. Enter the brand name and a video of how to charge blades and use a safety razor will appear. I really don't know why it took me so long to shave because my shaved hands (first random test) look so smooth and soft that I will never go back to disposable razors.
