Don't worry if you follow the instructions you won't cut them! That's the coolest thing. When using embossing dies, this silicone mat acts as a cushion, relieving pressure and preventing cuts. I use a Big Shot and a standard size sandwich board. It needs to be used with additional tools (a texture board in my case) but has given great results. Left are the dies, right is the same die that was used for embossing with a silicone mat and impression pad.
