I really wanted to be able to turn off the overhead lights in my aquarium but still have some light inside. When I was treating my tank for fungus the pills turned the water green so I used blue light to make the water look better. The bubbler worked right away and the only problem was keeping it at the bottom of the tank. I think how I positioned the cables played a part in this, but eventually on my last water change I attached a suction cup to the bottom of the tank and it stayed. I think in a smaller aquarium with more room for cables this wouldn't be a problem. The colors are bright and very pretty! The remote works, but as other reviewers have said, you must point the remote at the plug, not the light itself. I bought a different tank and it came with a bubbler, otherwise I would buy this item again for this smaller tank . I have decided to sell the one that came in the kit and buy this one again.
