This was my first attempt at burning to DVD. It only took 25 minutes to set up and record. So far I've only used tdk + rw because no rework is required. So far everything works as it should and very easily. I'm by no means tech savvy, if you're looking for a cheap standalone model I would recommend this one. The ability to record on different media is a big plus! I've recorded over 55 hours of home videos and TV shows using +r, -r and vcd. This car is easy! I can't believe how good it is, the noise doesn't seem to be a problem to me and the rails function on the remote makes it easy. The only downside would be the editing function, but again, for the money and my needs, that's not a downside. I've been using it almost continuously for over a week now and have had no problems. If you're looking to break into the DVD recording market, this is a great place to start! So far he has reproduced everything and everyone. All of the finished DVDs ran smoothly on my cheap Apex player as well as on the lite-on. I have returned to the manual many times and found it easy to read and understand, the remote control is simple and the front panel buttons are useful, overall a great product.
