Review on ๐ŸŒป Silent Spinner Sunflower: Wood Hamster Exercise Wheel with Stand, Whisper-Quiet Performance by Kimberly Jain

Quiet - IF you can leave it stationary

I bought this for a cage top aquarium for my Syrian Hamster. The wheel is really quiet when spinning (hooray!). However, when you put it on the bottom of the cage, the spinning motion invariably moves it slowly across the bottom of the cage until it hits the glass. And then he knocks on the glass/cage (not silent). I couldn't figure out how to hold it in place without stopping its spinning motion - I tried squeezing it between things by leaning it against a pile of bedding, but to no avail. I couldn't attach it for obvious reasons (hamsters aren't picky about what they nibble). Plan B: I tried removing the freestanding steel base and placing it on top of the cage part. The bolt and nut combo was so wide that the cage bars moved apart when tightened, causing the wheel to sag and rub (read: loudly) against the cage with each revolution. So it didn't work. I tried loosening the bolt mount to keep it from sagging, but that only caused the now-loosened wheel to flow down instead of sag. uhh. Completely disappointed I had to send the bike back to Revane. He is really quiet when walking and was the perfect size for my Syrian hamster, but unless you figure out how to keep him steady on the cage floor he makes noises when he rubs/knocks/swings against the cage wall. . Very disappointing. Very easy to clean!
