If your 1MZ engine has a (very treatable) carbon problem, this gasket is a good, cheap short-term solution if you have to constantly remove the oil pan. Between cleaning cycles on my 02 Sienna mud monster, this old-school seal held up pretty well, giving enough time to complete a thousand-mile mud removal process without having to close the headache every time. After being reasonably happy with the result, I threw it away and resealed it with Toyota FIPG. Finally, this is a cork pad and cannot be considered permanent.
