I have an old cup warmer that my wife bought from Brookstone (pictured left). It worked well for many years but is no longer sold. So I got this VOBAGA for my desk at work. Before taking it to the office, I ran some tests and measurements side-by-side with my trusty old heater. As you can see in the photo, the VOBAGA heater runs hotter than the Brookstone heater when both are running at maximum power. although on the VOBAGA heating pad the heat is distributed less evenly than on the older heating pad. When my cup was about ¼ full and the heater was still on 'high' the rest of the tea was still about 170º (I like it hot). It was a typical ceramic mug with a slightly concave bottom. If you were to use a completely flat bottomed cup you would see even better performance. I also like the look of the heater. It has clean lines and a nice compact body. The touch buttons work well and the burner is big enough for any regular sized mug. Can't comment on reliability yet, but in terms of performance and form factor, I give it a high rating.
