The shelves appear to be quite sturdy. However, they are useless for my purpose because the measurement data is wrong. They should be 10.6 inches square. Well, there are shelves; However, the legs flare out an additional half inch on either side of the top and flare out further at the bottom, making them over 11 inches for all practical purposes. I wanted to use them to divide a shelf horizontally on a tall, narrow shelf that measures just under 11 inches inside. They didn't fit. Almost, but not quite. They don't work anywhere else for various reasons, so I'm guessing they'll just go to the garage. If the measurements are not critical to you, then everything else is fine.
