based on my observations these placemats offer a visually pleasing touch to any dining experience. The scalloped edges add an elegant feel while the dusty paper finish adds a rustic touch .However, the durability of these placemats leaves something to be desired. USING them multiple times may result in wear and tear. All in all, I would recommend these for a one-time event rather than consistent use in an industrial and scientific setting..
