If you have problems with the case, it will turn on in reverse!
At first I applied the product incorrectly. I accidentally put it on the wrong way round and it was hard to undo the top. The case is close and works great. A lot of people in the reviews say you have to take the top off. Try turning the case over. In the images above you can see the back of the bookshelf showing a piece of metal on top of the AirPod case itself with a door opening.
