I love my microscope carrying case!

Update 06/30/2021: I'm still happy about this purchase. I carried my microscope around in this tool kit and worked in biological labs for about six years. FWIW, photos (1, 2, 3) show one way to package microscope parts in egg carton foam, bubble wrap, and plastic bags. I separate the head and eyepieces from the main body, but YMMV. The standard school supplies box is great for small items.* * * * *Sturdy and deep. good pen. The clasps are plastic but strong. The tray comes out immediately. With an Eggcrate foam insert, this toolbox transforms into a Super Microscope Carrying Case! There's even space for a school box with lenses, immersion oil and slides; small digital microscope, power cord and rolled-up dust cover. This is the best and cheapest solution I've found for taking the microscope with you to biology class and other adventures. Go homeschooling? This budget-friendly approach beats the classic laundry hamper of beach towels. John Lind from Great Scopes directed me to his website that shows how to do this. Easy DIY. He recommended me exactly this Plano toolbox, which I couldn't find locally. I am so grateful! I don't think I can put a URL with instructions here, and I don't want to impose Rewain's rules on promotional content. So if you're interested, search his website for "make a carrying case for your microscope". Good pictures and explanation. Note: The photo showing the boxes with the white eggs in the lid is from Mr. Lind, not mine.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
