However, please note that I received this item for free in exchange for my honest review. === The review begins: Okay, first let me say that this is a pretty easy kit to install and the cartridge is rated for 6 months / 4500 gallons. .A few things to pay attention to: 1. It is designed to supply cold water from the right side of the sink. I have an old location where the cold water inlets are on the LEFT side. Don't ask me why, but I'm not the only one here in Texas who's experienced it. That being said, with this configuration you will need to remove the four screws at the top of the bracket and rotate the filter holder 180 degrees OR you can attach the lines in the correct setup/orientation. The kit comes with all the parts you need to easily mount it under your vanity. Total installation time should take around 20 minutes (more if your base cabinet looks like my Fibber McGee cabinet). Cold water line adapter but I did. I don't like leaking water pipes. After installation, open the cold water pipe and let it run for about 15 minutes until the coal dust or gray tint of the water disappears. You should also do this every time you change the filter. This will clean the filter of any dust or debris and prepare it for the first run. The 15 minute time frame is approximately 20 gallons or so per 1.5 GPM mixer. The filter not only removes lead but also other chemicals such as sulphur, copper etc. This makes the water taste much better than straight from the tap. This is recommended for older urban systems such as our four apartment system. I don't know how well that works with well water. One more note. This is NOT a whole house filter or a reverse osmosis filter. It is intended for use in a sink such as B. a kitchen sink provided. The water tastes better since I added it last weekend.
