I dry brush to get rid of a number of health issues including removing toxins and nerve pain. My old drybrush has gotten a bit softer with a lot of use so I specifically looked for reviews that would give me an incredibly strong brush that wouldn't hurt animals and here we have it. They send some extra sponge but I won't use it but it's valuable. It's incredibly firm, so if you have sensitive skin and can't take much, this might be too much for you. I have sensitive skin but take dry brushing seriously and want an intense session. You can find methods online to learn how to do it properly, leading to a therapy session. I just cleanse every area of my body that I can, mostly toward the heart and multiple times in the same place. If your skin is really dry you will find that the skin is flaky all over your body, but I don't recommend that your skin is incredibly dry because it can break so hard (this happened to me once). My skin started to get used to the firmness so I didn't have any major irritation afterwards. I make homemade essential oil blends in roll-on bottles and infuse them with healing energy. When I'm done dry brushing, I rub them into my skin like other lotions that don't have any additives or extra chemicals I make. also with essential oils. There's no way I'm going to put a scented, artificially toxic lotion on open pores after a dry cleaning session. If I do this every day I notice less cellulite and my skin looks a lot better and I actually feel better about my body but I have to keep that in the back of my mind. I often dry brush right before I shower, but I avoid using open-pore body washes and just rinse with water, then apply lotion and essential oils. This is the hardest brush I could find so make sure you know this before ordering. I love it.
