Love how easy they are to pull out. Simply wet the silicone with warm water first. The size is good. There is a small band around the middle but another ice ball maker we have has it too. It comes with a small funnel so you can pour water into the hole from the top. This works well, but it's easier to turn on the faucet in a narrow stream. Or, if like me you prefer to use purified water, you can use a pitcher with a good quality spout. I have found that my small milk frother works very well for pouring into small holes. Definitely easier than using a funnel.
