Canner's Friend fits colanders and food strainers
My old one broke at the handle/skimmer joint from just getting soldered on. This one has small rivets so it feels much stronger. Also, this is your basic "jelly skimmer" which has a very, very fine mesh. It's almost opaque when you hold it up to the light. Although it's a bit smaller in diameter than my old one, IMHO it's an asset for getting rid of those pesky bubbles from the crooked side of the pan. If you're making jelly or jam, you need it. And that's good.
